JOB TITLE: Warehouse Person

JOB SUMMARY
Warehouse Person is responsible for accurate and timely shipping, receiving and order pulling, accurate record keeping of transactions, inventory levels, and billing. This position must perform their job to meet the guidelines set for Inventory Control variances. Warehouse Person also performs a variety of housekeeping duties for the warehouse area and yard; and is responsible for maintaining warehouse inventory counts through physical count and the SAGE Inventory System and interfaces with the Accounting Controller for the purpose of proper inventory accounting. Reports to Inventory Control Manager; there are no direct reports to this position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Shipping and receiving of goods in and out of the warehouse.
- Use of an electronic inventory control system.
- Evaluates inventory levels and notifies purchasing agent when reorders are necessary.
- Accurate and timely record keeping of transactions.
- General housekeeping of the warehouse and yard.
- Correctly issuing stock to technicians and contractors.
- Taking quarterly counts of inventory of stock and performing.
- Daily Cycle Counts of Inventory Stock Movement into/out of inventory.
- Maintaining a suitable working level of stock inventory.
- Daily Physical Cycle Counts of Inventory Stock.
- Accurate record keeping of all transactions including receivers, Build of Materials, Fiber reels.
- Interfacing with external contractors on a consistent basis.
- Safely operating all equipment essential to complete work: forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, hoists cranes, and tools common to warehouse operation, and any new equipment introduced by the company.
- Operating company vehicle to transport goods as needed.
- Performing any miscellaneous department duties as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent - required
- Certified forklift driver - required
- Personal computers and previous CRT/word processing and Excel experience - preferred
- Previous experience in warehouse background - strongly preferred
- Understanding of the SAGE Inventory System or similar Inventory Systems - preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to demonstrate walking, kneeling, standing, regularly lift 70 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 100 pounds, stooping, climbing stairs, and ladders, sitting, driving, hearing, talking, use of hands and fingers to grasp, hold, pick up & rotate, keyboard, etc. Ability to work in extreme cold and extreme heat inside and outside of the warehouse building.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Warehouse Person is a full time union position.
- The regular shift for Warehouse Person is an 8 hours shift, 5 days per week (which could include week-ends) and subject to change as company’s needs dictate.
- Overtime is required and must be approved in advance by the supervisor.
- Warehouse Person reports to 7300 Airport Highway, Holland, OH.
- Warehouse Person works in an automated business office environment with business office equipment including telephones, personal computers, copy machines, typewriters and FAX equipment.
- Warehouse Person is required to drive on the job as needed and is subject to regular MVR checks. He/she must maintain a valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record the meets Company standards for an insurable driver at all times. Any time these conditions are not met, he/she must not drive on the job and must immediately report it to their supervisor.
