Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
- The Senior Account Executive is responsible for the selling of advertising to credible advertisers and achieving agreed upon productivity levels and revenue goals.
- The Senior Account Executive reports to the Director, Media Sales and Creative Services
- There are not direct reports to this position.
- Interfaces with the following positions within the organization: Sales Management, Creative Services, Video Production, Traffic, Research and Promotions, and Accounting.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The Senior Account Executive is responsible for:
- Increasing the revenues of Buckeye Broadband through the sale of commercial advertising on Buckeye Broadband cable, cable television networks, locally produced networks BCSN and BCAN, digital, billboard and social media platforms
- Presenting new ideas to clients and explaining how specific types of multi-platform advertising will help promote the client’s products or services in the most effective way possible;
- Developing and maintaining ongoing relations with advertisers in order to increase and retain advertising clients in number and investment levels. This includes using the telephone to make calls, writing letters & email correspondence, and driving to make personal visits to retailers and advertisers;
- Processing all correspondence and paperwork related to accounts;
- Delivering advertising proofs to clients for approval;
- Preparing promotional plans, sales literature, media kits, and sales contracts;
- Developing and preparing idea focused marketing program presentations and cost estimates for potential Buckeye clients;
- Performing collections of accounts as needed
- Achieving revenue goals monthly; achieving prospecting and presentation activity goals weekly; recording and reporting sales activity accurately in Sales Force
- Following and enforcing the Company’s policies and procedures, including the EEO guidelines and safety, at all times;
- Performing any miscellaneous department duties as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or the equivalent- required
- Minimum 5 years previous related sales experience- required
- Bachelor degree in Business administration, radio/TV, liberal arts or equivalent degree- preferred
- Working knowledge of media and advertising industry – preferred
- Experience using personal computers and software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel – required
- Prior experience using contact management applications (such as SalesForce or other CRM) – strongly preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Walking, standing, lifting up to 25 lbs, stooping, sitting, driving, hearing, talking, vision (close, distant, color, depth perception, adjust focus), and use of hands and fingers (grasp, hold, pick-up, rotate, keyboarding, etc)
WORKING CONDITIONS
- The Senior Account Executive is a full time salaried exempt position regularly working 40 hours per week. In addition, the flexibility to work as needed to meet the customer needs, including Saturdays, Sundays or weekends is required.
- The Senior Account Executive works in an automated business office environment with business office equipment including telephones, personal computers, copy machines, and FAX equipment.
- The Senior Account Executive is required to drive on the job as needed and is subject to regular MVR checks. He/she must maintain a valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record the meets Company standards for an insurable driver at all times. Any time these conditions are not met, he/she must not drive on the job and must immediately report it to their supervisor.
